Frequently asked questions

The essentials before sending, with clear answers.

How much does it cost to send money to Cuba with VeltroPay?

It depends on how much you send, which part of Cuba it's going to, and whether your family member receives it in cash or on their card. That's why we don't say 'from': use the calculator and you'll see your exact price, fee included, before signing up.

Are there hidden fees or will I be charged more later?

No. The total you see in the calculator is the total you pay. The fee is already included and there are no charges afterwards — not for you, and not for your family member in Cuba.

What exchange rate do you apply and when is it locked in?

We show you the EUR→USD, CUP or MLC rate before you confirm. When you confirm your request, that rate is locked in: even if the market moves later, your family member receives exactly the agreed amount.

What payment methods can I use to send money to Cuba?

You can pay by bank transfer, with a 3% discount, or by card and Bizum. If you're in a hurry: card or Bizum. If you'd rather save and don't mind waiting for us to validate your proof of payment: bank transfer. Whichever you choose, your price is locked in when you confirm your request.

Why is bank transfer cheaper?

Card payments go through a gateway that charges us a fee. A bank transfer goes straight to our account at a Spanish bank, without that cost, and we pass the saving on to you: 3% off the total. In exchange it takes a bit longer to confirm, because we validate your proof of payment manually.

How much do I really save by paying by transfer?

3% of the total. On a €200 transfer that's about 6 €; on €500, about 15 €. It's not a fortune and we won't pretend otherwise: if you send large amounts or send every month, it adds up. If you're in a hurry, pay by card and you're done.

Why does the price change depending on the amount or the province?

Delivering cash to a doorstep in Camagüey doesn't cost the same as a card deposit in Havana. Our fee reflects the real cost of delivery; the calculator shows you the exact price for your case.

What will you see on your bank statement?

The charge may appear under the payment provider's name, which is different from VeltroPay. If you don't recognize a charge, compare it with the transfer reference in your account, or write to us and we'll confirm which transfer it belongs to.

Is it safe to send money to Cuba with VeltroPay?

Card payments are protected with bank-level encryption and 3D Secure verification. You can track your transfer at every step from your account and request a cancellation as long as it hasn't been delivered. If a transfer can't be completed, the amount paid is refunded.

Who is behind VeltroPay and how are payments processed?

VeltroPay is the trade name of VLPAY LLC (registration number 0008125981), which provides B2B solutions for the payments sector. Payments are processed through gateways in the European Economic Area, so the charge may appear on your statement under a name other than VeltroPay.

How long does it take for the money to arrive in Cuba?

It depends on the method and the area. Cash delivery in Havana is set at 24-48 hours, Monday to Saturday; in the other provinces we serve, between 5 and 8 business days. Card deposits and mobile top-ups have their own timeframes. The calculator shows the estimate for your case before you pay.

Is there a difference between cash, an MLC card and a Cubacel top-up?

Yes. Cash is delivered by hand to the recipient; a card deposit (Clásica, Tropical or MLC) adds funds to their account; and a Cubacel top-up adds credit or data to their phone number. The calculator shows what your family member receives and how long it takes for each method.

Can I send money to any province in Cuba?

Coverage depends on the province and municipality. Havana has the shortest delivery time, and the other provinces we serve take longer. The calculator confirms whether your destination is covered — and how long it takes — before you continue.

From which countries can I pay?

You can start a transfer to Cuba from any country. Available payment methods depend on your location and the transaction. Review your options and the final price before paying.

Why do I pay in euros and my family member receives dollars?

You pay in euros and the delivery in Cuba is made in the currency of the chosen method (for example, cash in USD). The calculator applies the exchange rate and shows you the exact amount your family member will receive before you pay.

Can I track my transfer to Cuba in real time?

Yes. From your account you can check the status at every step: payment confirmed, processing, on the way and delivered. If you link our Telegram bot, you'll also get an automatic notification every time the status changes.

Does VeltroPay have a WhatsApp or Telegram channel?

Yes. Our WhatsApp channel shares news and top-up promotions, and the Telegram bot lets you check the status of your transfers and receive updates without waiting for an agent. Requests are created on the website.

What happens if my transfer can't be completed or I have a question?

If a transfer can't be completed, the amount paid is refunded. For questions and issues, our support team is available by chat and email and stays with you until it's resolved.

Can I cancel?

You can request a cancellation as long as the transfer hasn't been delivered. Write to us by chat or email and we'll take care of it.

What recipient details are needed?

It depends on the method. For cash, the recipient's name and a contact; for a card deposit, the card number; for a top-up, the phone number. The calculator only asks for what's needed in each case.
