The Cuban banking system in context

Several currencies and financial circuits coexist in Cuba. The CUP (Cuban Peso) is the official currency for wages, markets and state services. The MLC (Freely Convertible Currency) is a digital foreign-currency scheme created to channel spending in specialized stores (CIMEX, Tiendas Caribe, service stations). On top of that, USD in cash circulates widely and plays a key role in the informal market.

MLC cards are issued by three banks: BANDEC, BPA and Banco Metropolitano. Confirm the issuing bank and card number with the holder before sending. We do not publish BIN ranges.

The CUP (Cuban Peso) is the official currency for everyday spending in state and private shops. The MLC (Freely Convertible Currency) is a digital foreign-currency scheme linked to a bank card and used in MLC stores. They're two parallel systems, and families usually need both.

Can I send to any bank from Spain?
